The Historic Preservation Commission is determining if the Green Acres neighborhood should be designated as a historic district. This would freeze the neighborhood's growth and prevent homeowners from making improvements in one of the closest neighborhoods to IU. The neighborhood has few homes of historic significance, and they are already protected from demolition by the Historic Preservation Commission.
